Cobalt Integration is a multidisciplinary engineering firm focusing on the design, integration, and construction management of capital asset projects. We provide full-service project management from ideation, budgeting and capital approval, through construction and startup. We pride ourselves not just in completing quality projects, but in developing partnerships with our clients and vendors. Cobalt Integration is seeking a Construction Manager. While this position will be based in our Downers Grove, IL office, our projects will take you throughout the United States. Travel is required and can be expected to be 30-50%
Job Responsibilities

Construction Managers will be required to travel to job sites and ensure quality projects are installed per scope of work and drawings provided.

Construction Managers should be willing to stay on site for the duration of the project and be the first thing contractors see in the morning and last thing they see after a full day’s work. If the hours needed to meet schedule are 12-hour days, those are your hours.

Construction Managers should have a good working relationship with plant personal and make sure all needed work permits are available to the contractors at the start of each shift. The CM should also check to make sure all requirements of each permit are followed as intended.

Construction Managers should be able to write a report each day for the job progress and identify any issues that could result in a poor installation or schedule push.

Construction Managers should have a clear understanding of the scope of work and be willing to watch, observe and report any issues to Project Managers.

Construction Managers should be able to effectively quote the job they are currently responsible for to know if a change order is reasonable or out of line.

Construction Managers should keep a positive attitude during all shut down work, you will set the mood for the contractors.

Construction Managers should respect the contractors and not push in an aggressive manner, working with the contractors to solve issues ahead of time is well received and respected.

Construction Managers should keep all costs to a minimum, you are onsite to ensure a job done to the best of everyone’s ability while meeting the projected budget.

Construction Managers should be able to understand provided drawings to ensure installation meets concept.

Construction Managers should be able to understand job site safety and be willing to correct contractors as needed in a firm but respectful manner.

Construction Managers should read and understand all plant related requirements to help guide the contractors to a successful install.
